About Me.

Hi! My name is Ryan Traeger and I currently work as a mechanical engineer at New Hudson Facades and am pursuing an MBA with a concentration in Management and Leadership at St. Cloud State University. At my job, I help design and engineer facades for some of the most architecturally unique developments in the world. The projects I have worked on are located in New York City, Denver and Chicago. A couple of the really cool projects that I have worked on are Disneys Headquarters in New York City (Photo below on the left, click on the picture to learn more) and a J.P. Morgan Building also in New York City (Picture below on the right, click the photo to learn more).

Education

2016-2018

University of North Dakota

After high school, I began my collegiate career at the University of North Dakota (UND). At UND, I was majoring in mechanical engineering and is where I took most of my generals. After two years at UND, I chose to transfer to the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD).

2018-2021

University of Minnesota Duluth

In the fall of 2018, I transferred from UND to UMD as UMD was a better fit for me. After three years at UMD, I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering.

2023-2025

St. Cloud State University

In the Spring of 2023, the company that I work for (New Hudson Facades, see information on this position below) sent me back to school to obtain a Master of Business Administration at St. Cloud State University.

05/19 - 04/20

Superior-Lidgerwood-Mundy, Superior, WI

Mechanical Engineering Intern

  • Used SolidWorks to model and create drawings for winches and pumps used during the manufacturing process.

  • Used cost spreadsheets to estimate the cost of new products.

  • Brainstormed new product ideas to make the use of barge haul systems easier and safer for the end user.

  • Created bill of materials for barge haul systems and packing lists for the shipment of the products.

  • Created user manuals that were included with the shipments of the barge haul systems.

06/20 - 08/20

New Hudson Facades, Mendota Heights, MN

Mechanical Engineering Intern

  • Used AutoCAD to interpret curtain wall design and 3D model curtain wall for a skyscraper located in Chicago (320 South Canal St. Chicago, IL 60606).

  • Created 600+ engineering drawings for the manufacturing team to use during production of the curtain wall.

06/21 - Present

New Hudson Facades, Mendota Heights, MN

Mechanical Engineer I

  • 3D modeled curtain wall units for a new Disney Headquarters in Manhattan NY called Project Galaxy .

  • Lead engineer for revisions on Project Galaxy for planning and executing revisions to our design.

  • Collaborated with Project Managers on solutions to problems that would occur in the factory or on sight.

  • Attended career fairs to recruit and interview candidates to find people who would be a good fit for the company

  • Became a mentor for new hires to help ease them into their careers and provide advice for growing within the company.

  • 3D modeled curtain wall units for a new JP Morgan skyscraper in Manhattan NY called 270 Park Ave.

  • Worked as a continuous improvement ambassador to improve processes and trainings within the engineering department.

06/22 - 08/22

New Hudson Facades, Linwood, PA

Engineering Liaison

  • Moved to Philadelphia for three months during the summer of 2022 to serve as an Engineering Liaison for the manufacturing plant.

  • Created new processes to streamline the assembly process and reduce issues on the assembly line.

  • Worked with the operations team to solve problems that would come up related to supplier issues and engineering issues.

Certifications

  • Certified SolidWorks Associate.

  • OSHA 10 Hour Certification.
